Bringing Passion, Expertise, and a Caring Approach to Every Rehearsal

Dr. Eleanor Vance, Artistic Director & Conductor
Dr. Vance holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the prestigious Juilliard School and has over twenty years of experience leading professional and community ensembles across the nation, making her a formidable yet beloved leader of our organization. Her extensive background includes work as a vocal coach, music theory professor, and a published scholar on historical performance practice, ensuring that our choirs tackle complex repertoire with confidence and authentic interpretation. Dr. Vance is known for her warm, encouraging, and detail-oriented pedagogical approach; she has a unique gift for breaking down challenging musical passages into accessible, step-by-step lessons, unlocking the potential in even the most hesitant singers. Her philosophy is centered on the belief that technical mastery must serve emotional expression, encouraging every performer to connect deeply with the music’s text and context. Under her artistic guidance, CHORAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE has been able to expand its repertoire into sophisticated classical and contemporary works, while still maintaining the friendly and supportive environment that makes our community choirs so unique and welcoming to every new member.

Mr. Daniel Choi, Lead Vocal Instructor & Workshop Coordinator
Mr. Choi is a highly accomplished baritone and certified K-12 Music Educator, holding a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. Before joining our team, he spent a decade performing in opera houses across Europe and North America, bringing invaluable professional stage experience directly into our teaching rooms. Daniel’s primary focus at CHORAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE is delivering engaging workshops and providing one-on-one vocal guidance to ensure every singer develops a healthy, sustainable, and flexible technique. His approach is deeply empathetic, recognizing that vocal development is a personal and sometimes vulnerable journey, and he uses humor and positive reinforcement to build confidence while meticulously refining pitch, tone, and breath support. His specialized workshops on diction in Italian, German, and French are particularly popular, giving our members a competitive edge and preparing them for the demands of diverse choral repertoire, making him an indispensable resource for both our youth and adult ensembles striving for vocal excellence.

Ms. Sarah Chen, Youth Programs Manager & Community Outreach Specialist
Ms. Chen possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management, perfectly blending artistic passion with organizational expertise, making her the driving force behind our successful youth ensembles and community integration efforts. Having started her career as an elementary school music teacher, Sarah intimately understands the developmental needs and learning styles of young singers, ensuring our programs for children are as fun and engaging as they are musically foundational. Her role involves curriculum development, where she expertly integrates music theory and ear training games into rehearsal activities, and coordination of our outreach partnerships with local schools and libraries. Sarah is dedicated to the mission of accessibility, tirelessly working to administer our scholarship programs and secure resources so that every child who wishes to sing has the opportunity, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Her warm, organized, and proactive approach ensures that the logistical side of our youth programs runs smoothly, allowing our conductors and instructors to focus entirely on musical instruction without administrative distraction.

Mr. Julian Hayes, Operations and Finance Administrator
Mr. Hayes ensures the smooth and professional running of the entire organization, handling everything from venue booking and performance logistics to managing our membership database and financial reporting. Holding a degree in Business Administration and a deep personal history as a lifelong choir member, Julian uniquely understands the operational needs of an arts non-profit and approaches his work with a musician’s heart and an administrator’s precision. He manages the crucial details of concert production, ensuring our performances are executed flawlessly, from lighting and sound engineering to ticket sales and program creation, allowing our artistic team to concentrate solely on the musical product. Julian is also responsible for maintaining transparent financial practices and maximizing the efficiency of our resources, translating every donation and membership fee into the highest possible impact on our programs and community outreach. His dedication to logistical excellence provides the solid, professional foundation upon which all our creative and educational work successfully rests, giving our singers confidence in the stability and credibility of the CHORAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE organization.
Community & Engagement
Building Bridges and Shared Experiences Through the Art of Song
We believe that a strong partnership between the organization and our families is essential for the sustained success and personal growth of our singers, which is why Family Involvement is central to our operational philosophy. Parents are considered valued partners in the musical journey, and we actively encourage participation through volunteer opportunities, assisting with concert logistics, costume management, and event organization, thereby helping to keep our programs running smoothly and affordably. We hold regular Parent Information Sessions that detail the curriculum, rehearsal expectations, and performance schedule, ensuring families are fully informed and can best support their child’s progress, often including brief demonstrations of the skills being taught. Furthermore, our community-friendly environment is designed to welcome the entire family; many parents choose to join the Adult Community Chorus, turning the CHORAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE into a truly intergenerational activity where families can share their passion for music together, strengthening family bonds over a common artistic pursuit and making drop-off and pick-up times easier and more enriching for everyone involved in the process.
